- Idlers are CEMA-rated material-carrying and return idlers, applied
as follows:
- CEMA B-rated 4” diameter roller troughing and return idlers are generally supplied for conveyors 30” or narrower and/or conveyors carrying material smaller than 2” maximum lump size.
- CEMA C-rated 5” diameter roller troughing and return idlers are generally supplied for conveyors 36” and 42” wide and/or carrying material smaller than 6”.
- CEMA D-rated 6” diameter roller troughing and return idlers are generally supplied for conveyors over 42” wide and/or carrying material over 6”.
- Standard spacings are 4’ center to center for material-carrying idlers, 10’ center to center for return idlers, and 1’ – 1’-6” center to center under load points.
- Load point idlers.
- A cluster of a minimum of three (3) idlers is applied under each receiving point, generally of the same or higher rating than the idlers applied along the conveyor.
- For finer materials, normal steel roller material-carrying idlers are applied.
- For larger materials or at points of high impact, impact idlers or impact beds/bars may be supplied.
- Specialty idlers, such as disc returns, training idlers, hold-down rollers, etc., are applied as necessary or upon special request.
