- Most conveyor drives are supplied with shaft mount reducers, applied
per AGMA application standards, as follows:
- Class I (gearing service factor of 1.0), recommended for 1-shift
(up to 10 hours) of operation per day, or light to moderate impact.
- Class II (gearing service factor of 1.4), recommended for 2-shift
(10-16 hours) of operation per day, or moderate to heavy impact.
- Class III (gearing service factor of 2.0), recommended for over
2-shift (up to 24 hours) of operation per day, or heavy to severe
impact.
- V-belt drives are generally applied with a minimum service factor
of 1.4.
- EPACT compliant 1800 rpm 460 volt, 60 hertz, 3 phase TEFC electric
motors are supplied with all conveyors unless otherwise specified.
- Conveyor motor horse power requirements are generally applied in a
conservative manner, based upon Dodge conveyor drive application software,
adhering to the philosophy that the conveyors of the system should allow
the main processing equipment in the system to be maximized.
- Smaller motors are generally mounted on shaft-mount motor mounts,
while larger motors are generally mounted on separate motor mount frames.
- Reducers for all inclined, non-reversing conveyors are to be equipped
with internal backstops.
- Expanded metal-faced drive guards are supplied for all drives, except
for larger horsepower shaft-mounted motor drives, which may have solid
face guards.
